About Me
Hello! I am Brook.
I welcome children ages 3years and up to the playroom to explore their mental health and emotional needs. Children are encouraged to explore their emotions and experiences in the playroom to best process and communicate their dynamic world. As a certified child centered play therapist and registered sand therapist, I acknowledge each person's unique journey to effectively navigate a variety of problematic behaviors and challenges using this multifaceted and evidenced based modality of treatment.
I received my Bachelors in Psychology from Friends University in 2003 and completed my Masters in Social Work in 2009 from Newman University, obtaining my clinical licensure in 2015. My experience began during my internship in a clinical practice, focusing on children and families, expanding to foster care work, clinical agency practice, and private practice addressing issues of anxiety, ADHD, depression, adjustment issues, traumatic experiences, and relational difficulties. Most recently, I completed my Child Centered Play Therapy certification from University of North Texas Center for Play Therapy as well as my Register Sand Therapist credential and currently offer CPRT classes under supervision.
I am a life-long Kansan and love spending time at home with my husband, children, and extended family. Most importantly, I look forward to working with you on your individual therapeutic journey.
